Practicing Spiritual work in a hotspot that is New York City has influenced how I process and navigate through positive and negative vibrations. New York is a city that operates and vibrates at a rapid frequency where everyone is on the go; our Subway system is on high-demand that traveling to your destination can feel chaotic. I vividly remember when I first moved to New York in the summer of 2012, it took me a few months to be able to ride the train and walk through the city without absorbing everyone’s energy. As an empath, commuting to and from work would feel taxing and exhausting, I was constantly engulfed with anxiety from strangers. This experience ultimately worked out in my favor; once I was able to take control of my force field I learned how to ‘shut off’ incoming frequencies, protect and project my own energy.
The diversity of knowledge that comes from reading my cards is a knowledge I collectively gained through experience. Life is one’s greatest teacher - I’ve lived many lives and traveled many paths on my journey; I experienced monumental highs and lows, exuded in light and walked with my own shadow. I have taken on many forms from the modern mystic, the wild woman, the hustler, the hopeless romantic, the player, the vagabond, the healer, the educator, the student, the advisor, the artist, the empress, your strength and your weakness. Relating to people without judgment and putting myself in their shoes is just intuitive for me. Patterns are repeated throughout history, literature, families, friendships, relationships, behaviors, and so on. We are all woven together and our experiences will overlap, their depths may be felt differently and people will process in their own way but these stories have been told before. How we choose to overcome life’s complexities is what creates resilience, we have the power to permeate ourselves in self-love to heal our traumas.
Tarot is a divination tool where the cards are chosen from your higher self. My gift is to decipher the message intuitively through an inner-knowing that is deeply felt and processed through symbolism, astrology and numerology. A traditional Tarot deck consists of seventy-eight cards. You have twenty-two Major Arcana cards that represent major themes, life lessons and archetypes. Forty Minor Arcana cards correlating to everyday situations and sixteen Court Cards tying into personalities and characteristics of yourself or others around you. The deck consists of four suits related to the elements. Suit of Cups represents Water as an element and tells stories of emotions and relationships. Suit of Pentacles represents Earth energy and narrates life about material possessions, career and finance. Suit of Swords represents the element of Air and signifies one’s mental process, truth and communication. Lastly there is the Suit of Wands with Fire energy representing passion, enthusiasm and spirit in one’s life. Each card corresponds Astrologically to the Zodiac and Planets, they each have their own story, energy and vibration.
How does it work? There has to be a clear intention when asking the cards- I create a spread based on the needs of the client whether it is a situation, insight on the past, present or future, creative endeavors, business planning, self-exploration or choice making. The possibilities are endless. My process is its own alchemy; as a visual artist by nature I create an altar for each client and choose specific crystals, herbs and candles to adorn the space prior to my consultations. Curating sensory experiences is an art and part of my ritual. An esoteric practice such as Tarot, can prepare, warn, comfort or even heal someone and I hold so much gratitude to be able to spiritually advise those in need. The goal is for my client to feel empowered and replenished after their reading, even if the message is a hard pill to swallow- I put so much energy and power into healing and finding a solution for them through manifestation work, words of affirmation or the practice of ‘I AM’ presence to address their goals, concerns or dilemmas. The unseen is constantly present around each and every one of us. It is an energy force that can be heard and felt by being in alignment with ones mind, body and spirit. When we silence our minds, and get into the art of mindfulness and positivity the universe will begin to flow in continuous synchronicity. You begin to see what has always been around you and what is yet to come.
